Sis Hotel is in the
national park in Kaçkar Mountains, in Çamlıhemşin ( the town of
Rize) These national parks are rarely found and have good natural,
cultural and historical sources. National Park include theree big
mountains Uç Doruk, Lakes and Kaçkar Mountains. The ratio of rain in
this area is 2200 mm.
The Mountains which lies to the sky, rise 4000 m from the shore, so
it changes the climate because of the lands creation. The climate
often changes and it is the reason of biological variety. The most
important jeomorfologic creations are glaciers. The longest one is
12 km long. It is name is Elevit. Glacier Valleys are 2800 – 3600 m
high. Glaciers, glacier lakes, glacier valleys, circuses and glacier
stones are the richness of this area. The hills increasing in short
distance, geomorfologic creation the plants and animal communities,
the plateau houses, traditional kitchen tools, glacier lakes and
Ayder thermal springs influence the mountaineers, the tourists and
scientists, and invites them to this site.The plateau public
rejoicings, the vintage enthusiasm and the voice of music (folk
music played with a musical instruement made of leather) infuluences
our hearts. Ayder is a heaven with untouched nature and plateau
springs.
Animals in Ayder Plateaus
127 kinds of insects, 28 kinds of reptile have been living in this
area. In addition there are 9 kinds of mammal insects, 8 kinds of
mammals which eat meat, 8 kinds of rabbits, 19 kinds of rodent
mammals, 69 kinds of birds are living in this area. There are wild
goats, wolves, bears, foxes, pigs, deers, wild hens, pheasants,
jackals, pine martens, falcons, eagles, sparrow hawks, peregrine
falcons in this area. There are endemic animals which live in the
Black Sea and come to the springs.
Plant Community;
There are plants which grow in land climate. There are 661 kinds of
plants. The natural forest which is 5000 hectar large is one of the
most important ecosystem. There are 54 kinds of endemic plants, 6
kinds of animals without backbone, 6 kinds of insect.
